NORTH ISLAND TANDEM/RELAY TEAM REGISTRATION - INTERNATIONAL WAITLIST

The UFBA Firefighters Challenge is for UFBA members, however, we will consider international registration on a case-by-case basis once we have a clear indication of our members registrations.

Your attendance is not guaranteed, as New Zealand competitors will be placed first in the limited spaces at our popular events.

To register your interest in competing in this event, complete this registration and the UFBA team will be in touch as to whether your application to attend can be accommodated.

Important Information to Note

    • You will NOT be eligible for any type of UFBA funding, accolades (medals, titles, trophies), or placings.
    • If registering a relay team you will run the standard seeding round, as per the draw.
    • When the competition reaches the “knockout” rounds, your team will drop out.
    • Tandem and individual runs will be in the draw as per the normal challenge.
    • Prizegiving Tickets are included in your registration fee (4 tickets relay, 2 tickets tandem, 1 ticket individual). Lunches are not included in this.
    • If you are entering multiple categories you will be charged the largest international fee ie relay team $940 + GST, plus $100 for each individual run.
    • Additional tandem teams made up of the same competitors from the relay team will be charged an additional $100 + GST per tandem team.
    • We will try and accommodate dietary requirements once tickets are purchased, but this will depend on the catering supplier that we have already pre-arranged.
    • You are required to fund your own flights, accommodation, and transfers.

Competitor responsibilities

When attending UFBA challenges and events you are not only representing your brigade and country, but also the UFBA. We would appreciate professional conduct when attending these challenges and events. Inappropriate conduct will be taken very seriously and may result in disqualification from the challenge.

Please remember that drinking in uniform/PPE in public OR in restaurants or bars is also prohibited. We have a cash bar at the prizegiving dinner, under no circumstance is additional alcohol to be brought into the function venue, as this is against our contractual obligations.


Privacy Statement

The registration information collected by the United Fire Brigades' Association will be used for delivering and reporting on Challenge events and may be kept for historical records. I understand that my contact details will be shared with Gilpin Travel to organise accommodation, flights (if necessary) and transfers. I understand my registration information will be shared directly with Fire and Emergency NZ for reporting purposes. I understand that my information will be kept for historical purposes. This information will be securely, digitally stored and will not be shared with third parties.

Our challenges and events may contain photography and videography which may include you and your team. By registering, you acknowledge this and will give consent to your image being used for future marketing and communication collateral by the UFBA. Imagery and videos will never be used by or sold to Third Parties not directly involved in the business of the UFBA.

Please be respectful when you are choosing your team name as it will be read over the sound system for the general public. The Challenge Panel and Events Team will be reviewing all of these.


Contact details must be a for a competing member of the team, who will be responsible for passing on the information to all team members. Ensure the contact phone number and email provided are checked regularly for all future correspondence relating to this event.

IMPORTANT NOTE: we will not accept registrations that have names to be confirmed (TBC), is names are not valid the registration may become invalid. 


All names MUST be as per photo identification (passport/drivers license). It must not include nicknames or 'known as' names as this may make the registration void.

Submitting your registration indicates that you accept these terms and conditions and agree to adhere to them. CANCELLATIONS Should you for any reason need to cancel your booking your registration fee will be retained, and you will be billed for any flights and accommodation bookings made on your behalf. Unless you can provide written evidence as to your poor health or extenuating circumstances that prohibit you from attending. CHANGES Changes to your registration after the closing date will incur a fee of $50. No changes are permitted for flights that have been confirmed, and the full fare will be on-charged to you.
